Tammy Cohen - When She Was Bad

When She Was Bad - Tammy Cohen
Wow this was a great read! It’s a dark psychological thriller, a wicked story that keeps you guessing.

It starts at an English recruitment agency. A new boss is replacing their old one and the cozy and friendly atmosphere in the office changes. People who thought themselves as friends now suddenly turn against each other. In this storyline every character got its voice and you see his point of view. You can see who the new boss alters their relationships and how the former friendly office gets toxic,

The other narrator is Dr. Anne Cater. She lives in the US and years ago she worked on a case of two small children which were abused by their parents. The press called their home The House Of Horrors. The plan is to get them adopted overseas so that they can have a normal life. But Anne is questioning herself how much the horrible things they have suffered made a dark impact on their souls. And obviously her concerns were right when she learns about a homicide in London.

This was my first book from Tammy Cohen but not the last. I loved how she wove these two storylines together. At first I was a bit irritated about the Storyline about Anne but very soon I got the connection. And it kept me guessing who might be one of the poor children and what happened.

When She Was Bad is a compelling book. I just could not put it down. Everyone who loves a dark psychological thriller will enjoy this book!

Thanks to Netgalley and Transworld Digital for sending me a copy of this book to review.
